How does it work?+
Pick a quest, unlock it in the app, walk to the start location with your team, and solve puzzles together at real-world spots around the city.
How many players can play together?+
Teams are 2 to 4 players. One person buys the quest for the whole team; the rest join in the app at the start location. Each teammate sees different clues, so all of you are needed. Groups of 5 or more can split into multiple teams and race each other.
How long does a quest take?+
It varies by quest. Each quest card above shows an estimated duration so you can pick one that fits your day.
When can I play?+
Quests are designed for daylight hours. You'll be reading clues on walls, plaques, and signs around the city, so bright light helps. Light rain or cold weather is no problem; just dress for it.
Do I need to be in Zurich?+
Yes. Quests are tied to specific streets and locations in Zurich, so you need to be there to play. More cities coming.
What do I need to play?+
A charged smartphone per player (iPhone or Android), comfortable walking shoes, and an internet connection. One person on the team buys the quest; teammates join in the app at the start.
Can I buy in the app instead?+
Yes. You can unlock a quest from the app on iPhone or Android, or buy it here on the website with the same account.
Can I get a refund?+
If you bought on the website and haven't played the quest yet, email support@cipherwalk.com within 14 days. For purchases made in the app, refunds are handled by Apple or Google through their standard refund process.
